Dave Freeland attended high school at Conneaut Lake (PA) Area High School, where he won the Music Award in his senior year. He went on to study Radio & Television Performance at Point Park College in Pittsburgh, PA, and also at the University of Miami, FL. His music career as a drummer, singer/songwriter and business agent included his working with many accomplished musicians.

Dave began his own career with An Incorporated Few, a rock n' roll band in Conneaut Lake, before joining a nine-member band with a full horn section called Three Rivers Blues Band. Three Rivers toured nationally, opening for groups including Chicago, The Allman Brothers Band, James Gang, Johnny Winters, and Ted Nugent. Three Rivers also recorded "Captain America," a single released on Buddha Records and co-written by Dave. This all occurred before Dave joined Brainchild.

In early 1973, following Brainchild, Dave joined Gravel -- an all original band with rock & country influences. Gravel eventually evolved into The Corbin/Hanner Band, which recorded two albums in Nashville for Alpha Records and had three singles that hit the top 40 country charts. Corbin/Hanner toured nationally as the opening act for The Oak Ridge Boys, Mel Tillis, Don Williams and others, and performed on numerous national radio and television shows, including The Silver Eagle Radio Program, and That Nashville Music.

Dave also wrote "If You See Kay," a tune recorded by Canadian rockers April Wine on their Power Play album (Capitol Records). "If You See Kay" was a national hit on heavy rotation as an MTV video at the time when music video performances were featured on MTV's format.

Dave Freeland retired from playing in the mid '90s.
